- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1/2 cup mixed berry preserves
- 1 egg, beaten for wash
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
- Spread the mixed berry preserves evenly over the pastry, leaving a 1-inch border.
- Mix the melted butter with vanilla extract and brush it over the berry preserves.
- Cut the pastry into eight equal strips using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
- Twist each strip several times into spiral shapes.
- Place the twisted strips on the prepared baking sheet, allowing space between each one.
- Brush each twist with the beaten egg wash.
- Sprinkle granulated sugar over the top of each twist.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- Allow the twists to cool for five minutes before serving.
Notes
Make-ahead tips: Prepare the twists ahead of time and refrigerate for up to a day before baking. Can also be frozen unbaked.
