Description

Deliciously spiced chicken koftas served with a creamy garlic yogurt sauce that elevates any meal, perfect for gatherings or cozy family nights.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (for yogurt sauce)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine the ground chicken, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper (if using), and parsley in a large mixing bowl. Mix with your hands until thoroughly blended.
  2. Shape the mixture into oval-shaped koftas, about 2-3 inches long.
  3. Cook the koftas in a preheated skillet with olive oil over medium heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt in a bowl; adjust seasoning to taste.
  5. Serve the warm koftas alongside the creamy garlic yogurt sauce and garnish with parsley.

Notes

Feel free to substitute ground chicken with lamb or beef and Greek yogurt with a dairy-free option if desired.
