- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease your baking dish.
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions, about 10-12 minutes. Drain and lay flat.
- Combine ground beef and Italian sausage in a skillet, cooking until browned. Add onion and garlic, cooking until translucent.
- Stir in the marinara sauce and let simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Blend ricotta cheese, egg, basil, salt, and pepper in a bowl until creamy.
- Spread one-third of the meat sauce in the baking dish, then layer noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, mozzarella, and Parmesan. Repeat and finish with meat sauce and remaining cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes until golden brown.
- Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Make-ahead tip: Prepare the lasagna and refrigerate overnight. Add 15-20 minutes to bake time if cooking from the fridge.
