- 2 cups cauliflower florets
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 cups sliced carrots
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly steam the cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots until tender, about 5-7 minutes. Drain well and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour, cooking for 1-2 minutes until golden.
- Gradually whisk in the milk along with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir continually until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheese until it melts into the sauce.
- In a greased baking dish, combine your steamed vegetables with the cheese sauce and mix gently.
- Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top if desired.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is bubbling and golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
