Description

A delightful dish capturing the vibrant flavors of Greece, featuring succulent grilled chicken wrapped in soft pita, topped with fresh vegetables and creamy tzatziki.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pita bread
  • Tomatoes, sliced
  • Red onion, thinly sliced
  • Cucumber, sliced

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
  2. Place the chicken thighs into the marinade, ensuring they are entirely covered. Allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the chicken for 6-7 minutes per side until nicely seared.
  5. Remove the chicken from heat and let it rest for a few minutes.
  6. Slice the chicken thinly against the grain.
  7. Serve the chicken slices in pita bread topped with tomatoes, red onions, cucumber, and a generous dollop of tzatziki.

Notes

For greater flavor depth, marinate the chicken longer if possible. Customize your toppings and enjoy the versatility of this dish.
