A refreshing and creamy orange ice cream made with freshly squeezed oranges, perfect for hot summer days.

- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed, about 3 oranges)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon orange extract
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream and sugar until the sugar dissolves.
- Pour in the orange juice, whole milk, orange extract, and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- (Optional) Add a drop of orange food coloring and stir to combine.
- Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Transfer the churned ice cream into an airtight container and cover with plastic wrap.
- Freeze for 4-6 hours or overnight until firm.
- Allow to sit at room temperature for a couple of minutes before scooping when ready to serve.
Notes
For more flavor, use freshly squeezed oranges and chill the mixture before churning. You may also add mix-ins like chocolate chips or nuts.
