Description

A refreshing and creamy orange ice cream made with freshly squeezed oranges, perfect for hot summer days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed, about 3 oranges)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon orange extract
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream and sugar until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Pour in the orange juice, whole milk, orange extract, and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  3. (Optional) Add a drop of orange food coloring and stir to combine.
  4. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
  5. Transfer the churned ice cream into an airtight container and cover with plastic wrap.
  6. Freeze for 4-6 hours or overnight until firm.
  7. Allow to sit at room temperature for a couple of minutes before scooping when ready to serve.

Notes

For more flavor, use freshly squeezed oranges and chill the mixture before churning. You may also add mix-ins like chocolate chips or nuts.
