Description

A delicious twist on the classic patty melt, featuring juicy beef patties, melted cheese, and garlic herb toasted sourdough bread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 slices of sourdough bread
  • 4 slices of cheese (cheddar or American)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried herbs (such as thyme or oregano)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper, then form into patties.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your liking.
  3. While the patties are cooking, mix the butter, olive oil, minced garlic, and dried herbs in a small bowl.
  4. Spread the garlic herb mixture on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  5. Once the patties are done, place a slice of cheese on each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
  6. In another skillet, toast the sourdough bread slices, garlic herb side down, until golden brown.
  7. Assemble the patty melt by placing the cheesy patty between two slices of toasted sourdough.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • Feel free to add sautéed onions or mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • For a vegetarian option, substitute the beef with a veggie patty.
  • Pair with a side of fries or a salad for a complete meal.
