A delicious twist on the classic patty melt, featuring juicy beef patties, melted cheese, and garlic herb toasted sourdough bread.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 slices of sourdough bread
- 4 slices of cheese (cheddar or American)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried herbs (such as thyme or oregano)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper, then form into patties.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your liking.
- While the patties are cooking, mix the butter, olive oil, minced garlic, and dried herbs in a small bowl.
- Spread the garlic herb mixture on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
- Once the patties are done, place a slice of cheese on each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
- In another skillet, toast the sourdough bread slices, garlic herb side down, until golden brown.
- Assemble the patty melt by placing the cheesy patty between two slices of toasted sourdough.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- Feel free to add sautéed onions or mushrooms for extra flavor.
- For a vegetarian option, substitute the beef with a veggie patty.
- Pair with a side of fries or a salad for a complete meal.
