Description

Delicious Pecan Pie Bars featuring a buttery crust and a rich, gooey filling loaded with crunchy pecans.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups pecans, chopped
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven: Set it to 350°F (175°C) and thoroughly grease a 9×13 inch baking pan with non-stick spray or butter.
  2. Cream the butter and sugars: In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract using a hand mixer or whisk until the mixture appears smooth and fluffy.
  3. Combine flour and salt: Gradually mix in the all-purpose flour and salt until you achieve a soft, crumbly dough; it should hold together when squeezed.
  4. Press the crust: Firmly press the crust mixture into the bottom of your prepared baking pan, creating an even layer across the base.
  5. Craft the filling: In another bowl, beat the eggs until blended. Stir in the corn syrup, bourbon, and cinnamon until the ingredients unite seamlessly.
  6. Add the pecans: Gently fold in the chopped pecans, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the filling mixture.
  7. Drizzle and spread: Pour the pecan mixture evenly over the crust and spread it lightly to cover all corners.
  8. Bake to perfection: Place your pan in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes. Keep an eye on them; they are ready when the filling is set and the edges become lightly golden.
  9. Cool before cutting: Allow the bars to cool completely in the baking pan. Once cool, use a sharp knife to cut them into squares and serve.

Notes

These bars can be made one day in advance. Store them in an airtight container to retain freshness.
