Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a medium mixing bowl.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl using an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the applesauce and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Pour the batter into your prepared baking pan, smoothing the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a cooling rack to cool completely.
