- 2 cups biscuit mix
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups apples, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Combine the biscuit mix and milk in a bowl, stirring gently until a soft dough forms.
- Sprinkle flour on a clean surface and roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Cut the rolled dough into 4×4 inch squares.
- Toss together the diced apples, sugar, and cinnamon in another bowl.
- Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each square.
- Fold the dough over to form triangles and crimp the edges with a fork.
- Brush the tops with melted butter and egg wash.
- Arrange turnovers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes.
- Allow to cool slightly on a wire rack, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
For a healthier alternative, utilize whole wheat biscuit mix or substitute maple syrup for sugar.
