Description

Delightfully cozy breakfast rolls filled with savory ham, melted cheddar cheese, and drizzled with hollandaise sauce for a gourmet touch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup ham, diced
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 large eggs, scrambled
  • Butter for brushing
  • Hollandaise sauce for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk, melted butter, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Stir in flour, salt, and egg until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) as the dough rises.
  6. Roll the dough into a rectangle about ½ inch thick.
  7. Spread scrambled eggs, diced ham, and shredded cheese evenly over the surface.
  8. Roll the dough tightly from one edge and slice into even sections.
  9. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
  10. Brush the tops with melted butter before baking.
  11. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Drizzle with hollandaise sauce before serving, if desired.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Prepare the dough in advance and refrigerate it overnight. Allow it to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before rolling it out.
