- 4 medium Sweet Potatoes
- 1/2 cup Butter, melted
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 cup Water
- 1/2 tsp Salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel and slice the sweet potatoes into uniform rounds, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Combine the butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, water, and salt in a large pot over medium heat, stirring until the mixture thickens and the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes.
- Add the sweet potato slices to the pot and stir gently to coat.
- Transfer the yam and syrup mixture to a baking dish and pour any remaining syrup over the top.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For a crispy topping, make sure to uncover the yams during the last baking phase. Consider adding toasted pecans or mini marshmallows for extra flavor.
