Description

Delicious sweet and buttery candied yams that embody warmth and comfort, perfect for family gatherings or cozy dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium Sweet Potatoes
  • 1/2 cup Butter, melted
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/2 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and slice the sweet potatoes into uniform rounds, about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Combine the butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, water, and salt in a large pot over medium heat, stirring until the mixture thickens and the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the sweet potato slices to the pot and stir gently to coat.
  5. Transfer the yam and syrup mixture to a baking dish and pour any remaining syrup over the top.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For a crispy topping, make sure to uncover the yams during the last baking phase. Consider adding toasted pecans or mini marshmallows for extra flavor.
