Description

  • 4 Chicken Thighs
  • 1 Cup Buttermilk
  • 1 Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste
  • 23 Fresh Jalapeños, Sliced
  • Oil for Frying

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: In a large bowl, lay the chicken thighs and pour the buttermilk over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Coating: In another bowl, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat the Oil: Fill a frying pan with enough oil to cover the bottom about ½ inch deep. Heat over medium until shimmering.
  4. Coat the Chicken: Remove the chicken from buttermilk and dredge it in the seasoned flour mixture.
  5. Fry the Chicken: Carefully place the coated chicken into the hot oil. Fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through.
  6. Add Jalapeño Slices: Toss the sliced jalapeños into the oil during the last few minutes of frying.
  7. Enjoy: Once cooked, remove and drain on paper towels. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a healthier version, consider baking the chicken at 400°F (200°C) for about 25-30 minutes.
