- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
- Pour 1 cup of warm water into a large mixing bowl. Sprinkle the active dry yeast over the surface and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the sugar, salt, and vegetable oil until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour to the mixture while stirring with a spatula.
- Dust a clean surface lightly with flour and transfer the dough onto it. Knead for about 8-10 minutes.
- Place your kneaded dough into a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough to release excess air and then shape it into a loaf.
- Place the shaped loaf into a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan. Cover it again and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the crust turns golden brown.
- Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
Notes
For additional flavors, consider adding herbs, cheese, or spices into the dough. Allowing the dough to rest overnight in the refrigerator can also develop deeper flavors.
