Description

Delicious and guilt-free cinnamon rolls made with Greek yogurt, perfect for breakfast or a sweet treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze, optional)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for glaze, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Fold in the Greek yogurt and applesauce until a soft dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4-inch thick.
  5. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon over the dough.
  6. Roll the dough tightly into a log, then cut into 1-inch thick pieces.
  7. Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet and brush with melted butter.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Glaze with a mixture of powdered sugar and milk if desired.

Notes

For make-ahead convenience, prepare the rolled dough and refrigerate overnight instead of baking immediately.
