Description

A vibrant ice cream cake with layers of strawberry, vanilla, and blueberry ice cream, perfect for summer celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups Vanilla Ice Cream
  • 2 cups Strawberry Ice Cream
  • 2 cups Blueberry Ice Cream
  • 1 cup Whipped Cream
  • Red and Blue Sprinkles
  • 1 Pound Cake or Brownies
  • Food Coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cake base: Bake your preferred pound cake or brownies according to the recipe. Allow it to cool completely before trimming it to fit your baking dish.
  2. Divide and color the ice cream: Scoop about two cups of vanilla ice cream into three separate bowls. Tint one bowl with red food coloring, leave one bowl plain, and color the last with blue until you achieve vibrant shades.
  3. Layer the cake: In a clear glass dish, place the cooled cake base at the bottom. Spread a layer of red ice cream evenly over it, press it down slightly to seal in the flavors. Next, add a layer of the plain vanilla ice cream, and then follow it with the blue ice cream, again pressing down gently.
  4. Add the whipped cream on top: Smooth a generous layer of whipped cream over the top to create a cloud-like finish.
  5. Decorate with red and blue sprinkles: Sprinkle these over the whipped cream to mimic the flags’ vibrant colors.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap: Ensure your cake is fully wrapped to prevent freezer burn, and place it in the freezer for several hours until completely set, ideally overnight.
  7. Slice and enjoy the delightful layers: When ready, cut through the layers, revealing the stunning colors and textures. Serve immediately for a refreshing treat.
