Description

Create delicious homemade pizza with a crispy crust and your choice of toppings.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Pizza sauce
  • Cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or your choice)
  • Various toppings (pepperoni, vegetables, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Combine ¾ cup of warm water, yeast, and sugar in a large mixing bowl; let it sit until it bubbles, around 5-10 minutes.
  2. Mix 2 cups of flour and ¾ teaspoon of salt in a separate bowl.
  3. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil; stir until shaggy dough forms.
  4. Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the kneaded dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  7. Punch down the risen dough and roll it out to your desired thickness.
  8. Transfer it to a pizza stone or greased baking sheet.
  9. Spread pizza sauce evenly, leave a border, add cheese and toppings.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and crust is golden.
