- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup corn syrup
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Combine the granulated sugar, heavy cream, unsalted butter, corn syrup, and vanilla extract in a heavy saucepan.
- Stir gently until well combined.
- Set the saucepan over medium heat and stir continuously until the sugar dissolves (about 5 minutes).
- Bring the mixture to a boil and cook until it reaches the soft ball stage (240°F or 115°C).
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Grease your hands with butter and start pulling the candy.
- Shape the candy into logs or bite-sized pieces and dust with powdered sugar.
- Allow to set at room temperature for a few hours until firm.
Notes
Can be made ahead and stored in an airtight container. Customize with flavor extracts or added ingredients like sea salt or chopped nuts.
