Description

A delightful Slow Cooker Orange Chicken recipe that transforms simple ingredients into a flavorful meal with a sweet and tangy sauce.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken thighs or breast
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice for serving
  • Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the orange juice, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a medium mixing bowl.
  2. Place the chicken into the slow cooker and pour the sauce over it.
  3. Cover and set the slow cooker to cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  4. Mix the cornstarch with the water in a small bowl about 30 minutes before the cooking time is complete.
  5. Stir the cornstarch mixture into the slow cooker to thicken the sauce.
  6. Shred the chicken with two forks back into the sauce and blend well.
  7. Serve the shredded chicken over fluffy cooked rice, garnishing with green onions and sesame seeds.
