Description

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the sourdough starter and warm water, stirring until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes.
  4. Pour the olive oil onto the dough and knead for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about 1-2 hours.
  6. Punch down the dough gently, shape it into a loaf, and allow it to rise again for 30-45 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Bake the loaf for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For make-ahead, prepare the dough, shape it, and refrigerate overnight. To bake using an air fryer, adjust temperature slightly.
