Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 1 cup warm water (around 100°F/38°C)
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions

- Add the flour and salt, followed by the olive oil. Mix until a shaggy dough forms. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough to release gas, then shape it into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan. Cover and let it rise for another 30-60 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) during the final rise.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped.
- Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
For make-ahead tips, prepare the dough in advance, let it rise, punch it down, and refrigerate overnight. Also, you can customize this bread by adding seeds, herbs, or spices.
