A perfectly roasted Thanksgiving turkey infused with citrus and fresh herbs, ideal for family gatherings.
Ingredients

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 pounds)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 oranges, quartered
- 1 lemon, quartered
- 1 onion, quartered
- Fresh herbs (such as thyme, rosemary, and sage)
- 4 cups chicken broth
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Remove the giblets from the turkey cavity and pat the skin dry with paper towels.
- Generously rub the turkey with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Stuff the cavity with the quartered oranges, lemon, onion, and fresh herbs.
- Place the turkey breast side up in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth into the bottom of the pan.
- Roast for approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, basting every hour.
- Check the internal temperature at the thickest part of the breast and thigh; it should reach 165°F (75°C).
- Let the bird rest for at least 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
Consider seasoning the turkey the night before for deeper flavors. An air fryer can be used for smaller birds.
