Description

A creamy and crunchy casserole made with fresh green beans, earthy mushrooms, and topped with golden breadcrumbs, perfect for any festive gathering.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bring salted water to a boil in a large pot. Add the green beans and blanch for 5 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the onions and mushrooms for 5 to 7 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, and soy sauce in a mixing bowl. Whisk until smooth, then stir in the sautéed vegetables and blanched green beans.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and breadcrumbs.
  6. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Prepare the casserole a day in advance and store in the fridge. You can adjust cooking time for air frying. Fresh breadcrumbs are recommended for the best texture.
